STI

Family-owned Factory Stitched into Cleveland County

When it comes to homegrown companies, STI is woven into Cleveland County’s fabric.

Since 1964, STI’s team of 300 employees has been making upholstery fabric in the company’s Kings Mountain factory. Over the years, STI has grown to become a leading global provider of fabric, leather, manufacturing services, and sourcing to the home furnishings industry. Complementing STI are its affiliate companies, Brentwood Textiles, STI Fabric & Trim, Source Asia and JBS Leather. Among the brands using STI materials are Drexel Heritage, Corinthian and Basset.

In 2018, STI opened a new 150,000 square-foot facility to provide for its growth and added 100 jobs. The project was made possible in part through a working partnership with Cleveland County Economic Development Partnership and a state grant.
