Courtney Ashley serves as the Executive Director for the Cleveland County Economic Development Partnership. She is a team-oriented and results-driven strategic thinker and storyteller with over seven years of experience and comprehensive knowledge in economic development, marketing and communications, tourism, community engagement and team management. She leads Cleveland County’s economic development efforts through new business recruitment, business retention and expansion, project management, site identification and post-recruitment support. She previously served as the Economic Development Marketing Manager for the City of Greenville, South Carolina, where she supported the City through startup and small business assistance, business recruitment and attraction, community engagement and content, program and event development and execution. She also served as the Marketing and Events Manager for the Town of Forest City and as the Director of Marketing for the Forest City Owls. She is a 2015 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Lisa is passionate about building stronger, more inclusive communities through sustainable growth and strategic partnerships. With a background in planning, public policy, non-profits and public administration, she brings a strong foundation in economic strategy, community engagement and cross-sector collaboration. She also takes a proactive, community-first approach to fostering local business development, workforce advancement and long-term economic resilience. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking as a go-to way to relax, be creative and show love to and explore different cultures. She is also a three-time graduate of Clemson University. Go Tigers!
